Osec will appear exclusively under the brand «Switzerland Global Enterprise» from now on. The new brand name is designed to convey performance and purpose to customers with even greater effectiveness via a uniform, self-explanatory presence. Further aims of the new brand are to make better use of the synergies between the various government mandates and to combine strengths and save costs by means of one common umbrella brand. The new presence was presented for the first time at this year’s Forum for Swiss Foreign Trade and Investment.

Export sentiment among Swiss SMEs is more optimistic at the start of second-quarter 2013 than at the beginning of the year. Although the renewed flareup of the euro crisis in recent days has increased uncertainty in the short term, most Swiss export industries are well positioned to benefit from growing demand from abroad. In particular, the Emerging Markets and US will provide a growth fillip. These are the findings of the SME export indicator produced by Osec and Credit Suisse.

The Swiss foreign trade promotion agency, Osec, launches another “Commercial Office” in Doha (Qatar) on 30 January 2013. One of the important tasks of this new branch office is to help small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) from Switzerland and Liechtenstein to enter the market in Qatar and to promote on-site Switzerland as a business location. Sarra Messaoudi will manage the “Commercial Office”, which is part of Osec's Swiss Business Hubs in the Gulf States and the embassy in Qatar.
17. January 2013
Export sentiment among Swiss SMEs is unchanged on a quarter-on-quarter basis, at slightly above the growth threshold. Growth is being driven firstly by the big economies of the US, China, and the UK, and secondly by a number of emerging-market countries. At individual sector level, export expectations for first-quarter 2013 show considerable divergence. The ex-change-rate problem is continuing to ease. These are the findings of the SME export indicator produced by Osec and Credit Suisse.
